    January 20, 2019, 4:00 PM @ Carbondale Civic Center

    The 20th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration will be held at the Carbondale Civic Center on Sunday, January 20th. Doors will open at 3pm for light refreshments and viewing of community organizations' information tables. The theme for this year's celebration is "A Voice for Freedom and Justice". This year's celebration includes Murphysboro, Carbondale and Marion participation. Everyone is encouraged to bring canned or boxed food donations for the local food pantries.

  5. Fresh Fitness Exercise Class

    January 26, 2019, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Carbondale Community High School

    Fresh Fitness will return to Carbondale Community High School this winter. The exercise classes will be held every Saturday in January, February and March during the Carbondale Community Farmers Market from 10-11 a.m. SIU Student Recreation Center instructors will teach a variety of cardio and strength training classes throughout the 13 week program. No experience is necessary. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle, towel and/or yoga mat. A cash donation of $5 is suggested.
