Electrical Commission

The purpose of the Electrical Commission is to administer electrical examinations to applicants for a Carbondale Electrical Contractors License. The Commission also recommends to the Building and Neighborhood Services Manager the issuance or denial of the licenses for all applicants who take the required electrical examination and makes necessary revisions to the electrical examination.

Composition: (6) Six members, one of which is from Building and Neighborhood Services who shall serve as secretary for the Commission, the Chief of the Fire Department and four (4) other members who shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council. Each of the four (4) members appointed by the Mayor shall serve a four (4) year term and one shall be a registered professional engineer, one an electrical contractor, one a journeyman electrician and one a representative of an electrical service company. The representative of an electrical service company shall be designated as chairperson by the Mayor. (CRC 4-3-5)
