CARBONDALE MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE SCHEDULED FOR MAY 25th

The annual Carbondale Memorial Day Service will be held on Monday, May 25th, at 10:00 a.m. in historic Woodlawn Cemetery on East Main Street in Carbondale. Mayor Brad Cole will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Other participants include Commander David Conrad and Veterans of Foreign Wars Teeter-Carter-Watson Post 2605, the Daniel H. Brush Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 514, the Carbondale Preservation Commission and Carbondale Girl Scout Troop #159. Pastor Brooks Wilson of the Grand Avenue Christian Church will offer the invocation and benediction and Company C of the 31st Illinois Volunteer Infantry will present Special Military Honors with its traditional 21-gun salute from Civil War-era muskets.
The Memorial Day Service is conducted regardless of the weather. Ample seating will be provided.
